Today we celebrated Palm Sunday with a beautiful liturgy led by our Stage 3 and Kindergarten students. 🌿 It was wonderful to see our youngest and oldest learners come together in faith and community. ❤️ Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, remembering Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, where people welcomed Him by waving palm branches. 🙏🏼

🌟 Number Sense in Kindergarten! 🌟 Our Kindergarten students have been exploring number sense through hands-on learning. They estimate collections, organise them on tens frames, use their knowledge of tens and ones to find totals, and label their work with numerals. Students are also challenged to think beyond their number by finding one more, one less, and even ten more and ten less! We are proud to see their confidence continue to grow as young mathematicians. 🔢👏

Our Year 1 students have been exploring materials in Science! 👩🏻🔬 They tested which objects are waterproof and whether they float or sink, learning about the properties of different materials through interactive experiments. 💧

700+ Unite for Project Compassion Big Water Walk
More than 700 students and staff from 23 schools across Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) came together for Caritas Australia’s Big Water Walk in support of Project Compassion. Beginning at Parramatta Park, students carried buckets of water along a 4km route, gaining a glimpse of the daily journey faced by people in developing communities, especially women and children, in search of clean water.

Today we celebrated Harmony Day at St Monica’s! 🧡🌏 We started with open classrooms and a beautiful liturgy led by our Year 3 students, setting the tone for a day of inclusivity and celebration. Students enjoyed a range of cultural activities throughout both breaks, with a big shoutout to our FIAT leaders for their hard work in creating these experiences. It was wonderful to see so many students proudly wearing cultural attire or the colours of their flags. A special day celebrating diversity, compassion, and our strong community. 👫🇦🇺❤️

📐 Mathematics with Stage 3 🧮 Stage 3 are learning about Angles. In particular, they are learning to use a protractor to measure and record angles. Today they correctly measured the angles of their own name and are beginning to solve problems this week involving angles. 👏

✨ Compassion in our Hearts ❤️ In this season of Lent, each week our students have had a different COMPASSION focus. Last week they composed letters to our neighbours at the local Courtlands Nursing Home. This act of kindness taught our students that we strive to care for those in our community who may often feel lonely but are never alone. Stay tuned for this week’s focus… 🧡🌎
